ANGLE GAGE OR TILT SCALE FOR THE FENCE ON A VINTAGE DELTA 6" JOINTER
This is an “all new” banana-shaped angle gage plate to fit the vintage Delta 6" jointers.
Delta’s part number for this item is NJ-240.
This replacement gage fits Delta 6" jointers # 37-220, 37-205, and 37-207.
The original angle gage or tilt indicator plate that is used to set the fence position is often dented, dinged, scratched, damaged, painted over, or lost.
Our tilt indicator plates are newly manufactured and better than the originals.
These nominal 3/4” x 6” plates are made of stainless steel and have been carefully and painstakingly recreated from the dimensions of the original plates and from the original artwork.
The indicator blanks were laser cut from .030" thick 304 stainless steel before being carefully deburred and brush finished, prior to application of a high quality bright red vinyl decal.
The holes in the angle gage plates are an exact to match the original plates, and use the original holes to mount.
The angle gage plate can be mounted with the original style drive rivets or our recommended mounting method of using #6-32 screws in the rivet holes once they have been tapped to accomodate the screws

When restoring or refurbishing a vintage delta jointer, getting the old angle gage plate off is always difficult because of the drive rivets Delta used to install it.  Removing the rivets, more often than not, damaged the gage plate to some extent.  Before chiseling the rivets, look at the back side of the fence casting.  Many times the rivet hole is drilled all the way through and the rivet can be driven out with a small pointed punch or scribe.
